Mumbai has been experiencing heavy rain for the last 24 hours. The city and the suburbs are expected to get moderate to heavy spells of rain today, as per the India Meterlogocial Department (IMD) and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday gave necessary guidelines to the senior officials for waterlogging, cleanliness, and prevention of diseases like dengue, malaria, etc, according to an official statement from Chief Minister's office.

On Thursday night dewatering machines were used to clear waterlogging in the JJ Colony after a breach in the sub-branch of the Munak Canal, which is a part of the Western Yamuna Canal. Its Career Lined Channel (CLC) that runs into Bawana broke, leading to floods in nearby areas.
