Assam Assembly Deputy Speaker Numal Momin on Thursday blamed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for encouraging encroachers, after police personnel were attacked by miscreants in the Paikan area of Goalpara district.
He stated that a significant amount of work has been accomplished under the present government in the last four years in the state, which was never done in the past since India's independence.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday hit back over Rahul Gandhi's "corruption" allegations and said Congress leader criticizing him is clear sign that he must be doing something right for the people of Assam.
"We never take Rahul Gandhi seriously. Therefore, that era of Congress is over, that family nepotism is over and the Indian political background is of no use to Rahul Gandhi in Indian politics," said the BJP Kamrup District Secretary during the protest.
