Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced on Thursday evening that the accused in the Ujjain minor rape incident has been arrested.
"When we were taking (the accused) to recreate the crime scene, the accused (Bharat Soni) tried to run away, during which he also got injured and our police officials also got injured. They are being provided medical assistance. Necessary action is being taken in the case...," Ujjain Superin
Madhya Pradesh Mahila Congress leaders and workers on Thursday staged a protest in the state capital Bhopal, and demanded the resignation of State Home Minister Narottam Mishra over the Ujjain minor rape incident.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday hit out at Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led Bharatiya Janata Praty (BJP) government over Ujjain minor rape incident saying that they should answer what steps have been taken for the security of women after being in power for 20 years.

Congress Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Surjewala slammed the Bharatiya Janata Praty (BJP)-led Shivraj Singh Chouhan government over Ujjain minor rape incident saying that it has ashamed the soul of entire Madhya Pradesh and the country.
“A case has been registered under Mahakal police station in the district against unknown people in which rape incident has come to light and it has been confirmed in a medical examination,” said Sachin Sharma, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ujjain on Wednesday.
On the brutal rape of the minor girl who was kidnapped from her home on Thursday morning and raped in Aluva municipality, SP Vivek Kumar said that the victim was stable. The accused was identified and was a local person, he said.
The minor rape victim from the case involving star Nepal cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane attempted suicide on the eve of the expected final hearing over the case, informed the police.
