A man was stabbed to death allegedly after a fight broke out over a parking dispute in South East Delhi's Sarita Vihar area, police said,adding that four people have been detained in the case.
A woman and her 4-year-old daughter were killed and three were injured after a vehicle hit them while they were sleeping outside their shanties in the national capital's Civil Lines area on Friday, police said.
The dumper was taken in possession and the truck driver Ajay Kumar, a resident of village, Kucha Nangla Kewal oin Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri district has been arrested under Section 279/304A Indian Penal Code, they said.
Delhi Police on Thursday arrested two in connection with an assault and theft case in Delhi's Malviya Nagar area. The search to nab the third accused is underway.
"CP (Commissioner of Police) had given directions to all Deputy Commissioners that we should invite our staff for lunch in our own units and organise lunch. So we organised lunch today in the northeast district," DCP North East Joy Tirkey said.
The Supreme Court on Thursday said that it will consider whether the manufacture and use of green crackers in Delhi can be permitted or not and reserved the order on the issue.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday questioned Delhi Police to apprise it how the crackers will be burst despite the ban imposed by the authorities concerned.
“We received 38 calls for flying drones in different areas of Delhi. There were also one or two calls regarding terrorist attacks. Though it was a hoax call, none of these calls were taken lightly and all standard protocols were followed,” DCP Ops Anand Mishra said.
