Delhi Police celebrates G20 success, organises lunch, dinner

New Delhi [India], September 14 (ANI): The Delhi Police is organising lunch in different districts to celebrate the success of the G20 Summit. Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora had instructed all Deputy Commissioners to invite their respective staff for lunch in their own units, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) North East, Joy Tirkey said.
"CP (Commissioner of Police) had given directions to all Deputy Commissioners that we should invite our staff for lunch in our own units and organise lunch. So we organised lunch today in the northeast district," DCP North East Joy Tirkey said on Thursday, speaking to ANI.
The DCP also interacted with their staff and held a Sampark Sabha.
"We also interacted with our staff since every one of us was together. It is called Sampark Sabha to discuss and solve their issues," he said.
The Delhi Police Commissioner has been arranging dinner for officers to congratulate them for their hard work during the G20 Summit.
"CP had also arranged dinner yesterday. He has also arranged dinner for some officers today. This is a kind of Thanksgiving lunch and dinner that we are organising," DCP Joy Tirkey said.
The DCP said that the police have been preparing for the G20 summit for several months and it was an important assignment for them.
"It is an occasion of happiness for us. We had been preparing for the G20 summit for several months. It was an important assignment for the Delhi police. We have fulfilled our responsibilities seriously," DCP Tirkey said.
"We were working 24*7 for the G20 Summit, working in rain and sunlight. It was a learning experience for all of us and now it is time to come together and congratulate one another," he added.
The Delhi Police, along with other paramilitary forces, heightened security arrangements in the national capital as it hosted various G20 delegates from different countries for the G20 summit. The G20 summit was held in Delhi on Saturday and Sunday. (ANI)
