The father of deceased Sagar Dhankar has moved a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking transfer of the murder case of his son to fast track court for time-bound disposal like the Nirbhaya gang rape case.
The state government, in its affidavit, said a total compensation of Rs 10 lakh will be paid to the kin of each of the deceased and a grant of Rs 1 lakh each will be paid to the injured in the bridge collapse incident.
The incident took place on Thursday evening at a house in Shergarh sub-division's Bhungra village where guests had gathered for a wedding. The fire was caused after a cylinder exploded in the house, said District Collector Himanshu Gupta.
The deceased, 28, was identified as Om Kumar, while the accused persons were identified as Kartik and Ravi. Kartik has been arrested by the police, however, Ravi is still on the run.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the loss of lives and directed officials to provide immediate assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of the deceased.
The incident took place during the festive weekend at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, The Kansas City Star reported citing authorities. The two deceased were identified Sunday Uthej Kunta, 24, and Shiva Kelligari, 25, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
