Kathmandu (Nepal), Dec 18 (ANI): Meena Rajbanshi sits beside the gate of Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus at Exhibition Road, Kathmandu. She has travelled all the way from Jhapa in eastern Nepal to Kathmandu to sell the Bhakka, a steamed rice flour cake made by the Rajbanshi community. It’s been over a week that she has set her temporary shop which runs for about 4 hours a day. She mills the rice flour into fine particles and then the soaked rice is dried and then given shape using a bowl and then steamed up. The traditional clay pot with the narrow opening is used or the steaming. The compact leak-proof clay pot only has the opening over the mouth which also is covered by the muslin cloth and the rice cake is then placed over for steaming. With the traditional breakfast of the Rajbanshi ethnicity available in capital Kathmandu, the locals here are able to enjoy lip-smacking snacks.
