Chandigarh, Dec 02 (ANI): Punjab Youth Congress workers faced water cannons from Police in Chandigarh after they gheraoed the residence of Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar on December 02. The protest by the Youth Congress workers was against Haryana administration’s tackling of protesting farmers last month when the disgruntled community from Punjab decided to march towards the national capital for their ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest against the new agricultural laws. Protesting farmers who were marching towards Delhi faced water cannon and tear gas shells from Haryana Police. The alleged use of force against farmers drew ire of opposition, mainly from Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh who criticised the handling, and later said he will not pick up the calls of his Haryana counterpart. Thousands of farmers have camped in and around the national capital for seven days now to intensify their protest against the new farm reforms which they have termed as “black laws”.
