'Yes or no' is not end of any agitation: MoS Agriculture

New Delhi, Dec 16 (ANI): Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Kailash Choudhary on December 16 said that “six rounds of talks had happened between farmers and government and yes or no is not the end of any agitation.” Kailash Choudhary said, “Farm laws are in favour of the farmers. Farmers across the country are supporting Farm Bills. The situation is currently such that some farmers are favouring it while some are opposing it. Definitely these bills are pro-farmers, which give them the freedom to sell their produce to anyone at any price at their own will. If protesting farmers want some amendments, then government is ready for it.” He further said, “Government is continuously speaking with farmers. We had 6 rounds of talks, 'Yes/No' is not the end of any agitation. Government is willing to give in writing that we will continue to buy at MSP. Farmers can sell produce inside as well as outside APMC markets.” On December 16, Supreme Court showed intention to form a committee comprising representatives of farmers unions across India, Govt and other stakeholders to resolve the issue. Farmers are protesting against Centre’s new farm laws for more than 20 days now. However, 6 rounds of inconclusive talks had happened between farmers and government.
