Weekend lockdown observed in Amritsar amid rising COVID-19 cases

Amritsar (Punjab), Aug 22 (ANI): In view of rising coronavirus cases, the Punjab government has imposed a weekend lockdown in all cities and towns in the state. Police personnel were seen checking vehicles and barricading was done on roads in Amritsar on August 22. As per the new guidelines, the night curfew will be imposed from 07:00 pm till 05:00 am in Punjab. Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has ordered a total ban on all gatherings, except funerals and weddings, across the state till August 31.
