Voting begins for 5th phase of DDC elections in J&K

Jammu / Ganderbal (J&K) / Rajouri (J&K), Dec 10 (ANI): The voting began for 5th phase of District Development Council (DDC) elections in parts of J&K on December 10. Voters reached their respective polling stations to cast their votes in Jammu. Due to pandemic, precautionary measures were taken at the polling station. A voter said, “I am a first time voter. I would like to say that we should get proper facilities.” People queued up outside a voting booth in Ganderbal. They cast votes to their favourate candidates. A voter said, “We have hope that after choosing candidate from our local will help us in better way and get proper facilities.” Meanwhile, voters also exercised their franchise at Rajouri polling station. The polling is being held in 37 constituencies today. The first-ever DDC elections in J&K is being held in 8 phases. Last phase of voting is on Dec 19 and counting will take place on Dec 22.
