Villagers of J&K’s Samba learn bamboo artistry to earn their bread and butter

Samba (J&K), Feb 10 (ANI): Handicraft Department of Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba has been providing one-year free training of bamboo artistry to the locals. Under the initiative, people are learning to make various bamboo products to earn their livelihood. Earlier, locals used to make only baskets with bamboos but now they are venturing into other products including chair and table too. After training, department will also provide loans in order to give financial assistance to these people in starting their own business.
