New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): Union Cabinet briefing was held by Communications Minister RS Prasad on February 17. Union Communications Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “Even during corona time, many companies in India and the world claimed to make mobile phones worth Rs 10 lakh crore. They provided mobile phones for the export of Rs 7 lakh crore and said to have provided employment to about 8 lakh people. Today 34 thousand crore rupees have been invested and top big companies of the world are making and exporting mobiles in India ...Today, Cabinet approved Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Telecom sector to offset the huge import of telecom equipment worth Rs 50, 000 crores and reinforce it with 'Make in India' products both for domestic markets and exports.”
