Tripura hosts 43rd Kokborok Day to strengthen Tripuri language

Agartala (Tripura), Jan 20 (ANI): Tripura observed 43rd Kokborok Day with great fervor and grand colorful procession. Kokborok Day is celebrated in the state every year on 19th January to commemorate its recognition of ‘Kokborok’ as an official language in 1979. Kokborok is a native language of Tripura spoken for thousands of years among the Tripuri community. The main program was organized at the Umakanta mini stadium in Agartala. Donned in traditional attires; hundreds of youth from different indigenous communities of Tripura attended the festival. Cultural programs, literary activities were the main highlights of the festival.
