Kolkata, Dec 17 (ANI): Reacting to the resignation of rebel TMC leader Suvendu Adhikari as MLA, party veteran Saugata Roy, who was trying to assuage the former, on December 16 said Adhikari wanted to be the number two in TMC after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and the party wasn’t ready to accept that. “We spoke to him (Suvendu Adhikari) on Dec 1 but on 2nd Dec he informed that we can't work together. That day we decided to not speak to him anymore. We couldn't fulfil his ambition, he wants to be the leader after Mamata Banerjee and party wasn't ready to accept it,” Roy told ANI in Kolkata.
