Solo dance festival ‘Okchari Yenningtha’ brings communal harmony in Manipur

Imphal (Manipur), 1 March (ANI): A week-long Manipur solo dance festival "Okchari Yenningtha” meaning welcoming the spring season concluded on Feb 28. The festival was organized by Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA) which is a constituent of Sangeet Natak Akademi (SNA), New Delhi. The festival which began on 21st February witnessed 34 young dancers from the tribal community, as well as the Meitei-Pangal (Muslim) from 24 different cultural institutions took part. JNMDA Director P Bilash said that the festival was specifically organised to demonstrate oneness among all the communities of Manipur.
