Siliguri gets first batch of Covishield vaccine

Siliguri (West Bengal), Jan 14 (ANI): First consignment of Covishield vaccine arrived in Siliguri from Pune on January 13. The vaccines have been stored at the principal storage point at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. The number of healthcare workers estimated for the first phase vaccination is 15,997. The district has 29 cold chain points and 21 vaccination points. Covishield is among the two coronavirus vaccines in India that have been approved for emergency use. The COVID-19 vaccination drive will begin on January 16. Health care workers and frontline workers will be vaccinated in the first phase of vaccination.
