A Sikh from Kashmir Valley becomes music session overnight

Srinagar (J&K), Aug 16 (ANI): A Sikh from South Kashmir has become an overnight music sensation in the valley. The 28-year-old drew public attention through his effortless singing in Kashmiri language. Harkishan Singh Sanam holds a postgraduate degree in music from Shri Guru Granth Sahib World University in Punjab. His song ‘Yale janane balam teli balam dilo bemaroo’ has been shared and liked by thousands on Facebook. Although, the song has been originally sung by Ravindra Kachroo and then, Shameema Dev. But Sanam’s style of singing has helped him to popularize the song particularly among the young generation in Kashmir. Harkishan Singh Sanam’s Mother said, “There is full support from my side. And not only I, the whole family is supporting him; the entire Tral is giving him support.” Harkishan Singh Sanam said that he believes in making one’s profession one’s addiction. He said, “Everything is an addiction, the way music is mine, Businessman is addicted to business, and mechanic is addicted to machinery, so you should make your aim your addiction. And if you make your profession your addiction then platform will come to you, you don’t have to go to it.”
