Security provided to Shaurya Chakra awardee Balwinder Singh’s family

Tarn Taran (Punjab), Oct 17 (ANI): Shaurya Chakra award recipient Balwinder Singh was shot dead in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district by two unidentified men. Balwinder Singh had fought terrorism and his family remained on target of the terrorists for years. SDM Patti Rajesh Sharma said that security has been provided to deceased’s family members. He said three gunmen will be deployed to provide security to Singh’s family. “Security (of Balwinder Singh) was withdrawn during COVID-19. When the situation arose suddenly, gunmen provided to everyone were called back by the Police Dept. Unfortunately, such an incident took place. Now three gunmen have been provided to the family,” he said. Punjab government has formed a Special Investigation Team to look into the murder. In CCTV footage, two unidentified men can be seen, one of whom went up to his house and shot him at point blank range.
