Schools for classes 10, 12 reopen in Tamil Nadu after over 9 months

Madurai/ Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Jan 19 (ANI): Schools in Tamil Nadu reopened for the students of classes 10th and 12th on January 19 after a gap of over nine months. A school in Madurai followed COVID-19 guidelines such as social distancing and masks. Students, teachers and other staff members were allowed entry only after a thermal screening. Director of School Education Department in Tamil Nadu, Dr S Kannappan visited Govt Girls Higher Secondary School in Chennai’s Ashok Nagar on January 19. All educational institutions were forced to shut down due to coronavirus pandemic. Speaking to ANI, a student in Chennai said, “Half of our syllabus was covered during online classes. I am happy to see my friends after so long but we have to maintain social distance.”
