Roosters get training for cockfighting ahead of Pongal festival

Rameshwaram (Tamil Nadu), Jan 10 (ANI): Roosters were given training in Tamil Nadu’s Rameshwaram ahead of Pongal festival on January 10. The intensive training is being given to the roosters to participate in the cockfight competition. The cockfight organisers tied sharp blade to both legs of the cocks. Victory is declared only after the opponent’s cock dies or if fatally injured during the fight. The government has banned on the traditional rooster fighting. Pongal festival dedicated to the Sun God will begin on January 15.
