Rajasthan to reopen schools, colleges from Jan 18: CM Gehlot

Jaipur (Rajasthan) January 6 (ANI) : Schools and colleges will open across Rajasthan from January 18, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced this while reviewing the status of COVID-19 situation in the state. CM Gehlot said that the condition of corona in Rajasthan is very much under control with the best management and cooperation of the people. The recovery rate has risen to an all-time high of 96.31 percent. With positive cases being zero in some districts, the situation is better in other districts as well. In view of this, the Chief Minister directed to open classes from 9 to 12 in schools, Final year classes of university and college, coaching centers and government training institutes from 18 January. Also, due to the process of vaccination, Medical College, Dental College, Nursing College and Paramedical College were also directed to open from 11 January. All these educational institutions will have 50 percent attendance on the first day and the remaining 50 percent on the second day in each class. Teachers will be given necessary training by the Health Department for the prevention of infection. During the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the cases of new strain of COVID-19 in the country and the state are of great concern. Any kind of negligence towards it can create a big crisis. In view of this, CM Gehlot directed the authorities to do intensive screening and COVID test of travelers coming to the state from England which is severely affected by this virus.
