Chennai, Jan 14 (ANI): BJP president JP Nadda attended party's Pongal festival in Chennai on January 14. During his address, Nadda said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been ensuring that Tamil Nadu takes a big leap as far as development is concerned. He further compared the functioning of finance commission towards Tamil Nadu under UPA and PM Modi. "PM Modi has tried to see to it that the whole country goes forward. At the same time, he has made sure that Tamil Nadu takes a big leap as far as development is concerned. The 13 finance commission during the UPA government gave Rs 94,000 crores to Tamil Nadu for the development. But the same commission under PM Modi gave Tamil Nadu Rs 5 lakh 42,000 crores. Mainstreaming and bringing people of Tamil Nadu in the front of the development have been the basic ethos on which PM Modi is working," said BJP president JP Nadda.
