People celebrate ‘Bhogi’ festival in Vijayawada, Chennai

Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh)/ Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Jan 13 (ANI): Endowments Minister of Andhra Pradesh Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao celebrated ‘Bhogi’ festival in Vijayawada. He celebrated the festival along with family members at his residence on January 13. ‘Bhogi’ marks the beginning of the four-day Pongal festival. On the other side, people celebrated ‘Bhogi’ in Chennai’s Nungambakkam area today. They gathered to light bonfires to burn their old belongings. ‘Bhogi’ is celebrated by boycotting the old things for focusing on new beginnings.
