Muharram 2020: Virtual Majlis telecasted on first day of holy month

Lucknow (UP), Aug 22 (ANI): Due to COVID-19 pandemic, festivals this year are being celebrated with low enthusiasm. According to the guidelines issued by the government, public gatherings are being avoided during the celebrations. Similar low enthusiasm will be witnessed this year in Muharram too. The holy month of Muharram commenced from August 21, following all the COVID-19 guidelines. Majlis were held with only 5 people ensuring social distancing and were telecasted virtually for the people. Considered to be the first month in the Islamic calendar, Muharram marks the migration of Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina.
