Maharashtra, TN see highest COVID cases in 24 hrs as nationwide tally approaches 5 lakh

New Delhi, June 25 (ANI): 4,841 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Maharashtra on June 25. 192 people lost their lives due to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours. On the plus side, 3,661 people recovered from the coronavirus infection in the western state. The total number of active cases in the state is now 63,342. The total death toll mounted to 6,931. Tamil Nadu has reported highest single-day spike of 3,509 COVID-19 cases and 45 deaths on June 25. 3,390 COVID19 positive cases, 64 deaths and 3328 recoveries reported in Delhi in the last 24 hours. Total number of confirmed cases in Delhi stands at 73,780, including 44,765 recovered/discharged cases and 2429 deaths. Nationwide tally of coronavirus is above 4.8 lakh and is expected to cross 5 lakh cases in next two days. Whereas, the death toll has crossed 15000-mark. 654 new COVID19 positive cases, 533 patients cured/discharged and 15 deaths reported in last 24 hours in Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has invited applications for validation of rapid antigen detection tests for COVID-19 from all manufacturers who have developed such kits.
