Lt Gen CP Mohanty takes over as Army Vice Chief

New Delhi, Feb 01 (ANI): Lieutenant General CP Mohanty assumed the position of Vice Chief of Army Staff on February 01. Lt Gen received Guard of Honour in South Block Lawns today. Before this appointment, Lt Gen Mohanty was the Southern Army Commander in Pune. Lt Gen CP Mohanty has taken over from Lt Gen SK Saini who superannuated on 31 January 2021 after completing four decades of illustrious career in the Army. Lt Gen CP Mohanty has the unique distinction of commanding two brigades: first on the Line of Actual Control and later on, the multinational UN Brigade in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Lt Gen CP Mohanty, an alumnus of Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun, National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, was commissioned into the Rajput Regiment on 12 June 1982.
