Agartala (Tripura), Guwahati (Assam) Feb 17 (ANI): With the recent hike in the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders and fuel, residents of Tripura are demanding immediate rollback. Worried with frequent increase in prices, residents say it has a cascading effect on the price of other commodities. “Earlier we use to pay Rs 600 to Rs 650 per cylinder and get almost half the amount (subsidy) in our bank account but now, we get Rs 150 in our account and paying Rs 901 for a cylinder. We are poor people, how are we going to cook food, if the price is so high? Should we cook using wood? We are paying a lot and the price of gas is around Rs 1000 but the subsidy amount is only Rs 150.” said a resident Jamina Khatun.
