New Delhi, Sep 17 (ANI): Lok Sabha passed two bills related to agriculture marketing. Lok Sabha passed Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, and Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020. Several parties including BJP's ally Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) opposed the legislation. On it, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal said, "We stand with the farmers and will do anything for them."Shiromani Akali Dal leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal, "Thousands of farmers are on the streets. I did not want to be part of the government that got the bills passed in the House without addressing the apprehensions of farmers, that is why I resigned."
