Lingaraj temple lit up with oil lamps after ordinance approved for better management

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Dec 15 (ANI): Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar was lit up with thousands of earthen lamps after Odisha Cabinet approved ordinance to improve management of the 11th century shrine. The state cabinet on December 14 approved Shri Lingaraj Temple Ordinance 2020 in line with Shri Jagannath Temple Act. According to the ordinance, a 15-member committee will administer the temple and its properties including nearby premises. This will ensure better management of day-to-day affairs and rituals which take place at the temple. Odisha’s Minister of State with independent charge for Public Enterprises, Ashok Chandra Panda, thanked Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for fulfilling the long-pending demand of the people, and said this will ensure better management for 11th century temple.
