Kanpur (UP), July 03 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police Hitesh Chandra Awasthi on July 03 visited the Kanpur encounter site. “It was such an unfortunate incident, where police forces were attacked by criminals. It was not a random conspiracy,” said DGP. He further ensured that investigation is underway, borders are sealed and teams are working on it. Earlier today, eight police personnel, including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Devendra Mishra, lost their lives after they were fired upon by criminals when a police team had gone to raid an area in Kanpur’s Bikaru village in search of history-sheeter Vikas Dubey. Later, two criminals were also killed in the encounter.
