Bengaluru (Karnataka), July 09 (ANI): The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is preparing to open a massive COVID care centre at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) to serve amid coronavirus outbreak. The 10,100 bedded facility at BIEC will be the country's largest. Centre will be open on Tumakuru Road to combat the surging coronavirus cases in city. New Delhi's Sardar Patel COVID Care Centre is currently the world's largest facility with 10,000 beds. The BIEC facility will accommodate asymptomatic COVID-19 patients or those with mild symptoms. Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, Deputy CM CN Ashwath Narayan and Health & Family Welfare Minister B Sriramulu visited BIEC campus for inspection on July 09. However, facility was crowded during visit of ministers, without attention to social distancing guidelines.
