New Delhi, Feb 13 (ANI): “India has almost achieved self-reliance in pulses. India’s pulses productivity is 23.62% of world's total productivity,” said Agriculture Minister NS Tomar in a summit on 'World Pulses Day.' Tomar claimed that India is the largest producer and consumer of pulses. Agriculture Minister further said, “Government of India is going to make 10,000 new FPOs across the nation and around 940 million dollars will be spent on these FPOs in 5 yrs. Through these, it will be possible to make farmers capable of getting access to seed generation, purchase and better technology.”
