India-Bangladesh rail link resumes after 55 years

Cooch Behar (West Bengal), Dec 17 (ANI): Rail services between Haldibari in West Bengal and Chilahati in Bangladesh resumed on December 17 after a gap of 55 years in Cooch Behar. “Freight trains are running initially, later passenger trains will run. Businesses in the area will flourish,” said a railway official. Today PM Modi, Sheikh Hasina jointly inaugurated Chilahati-Haldibari rail link.
