Kanpur (UP), Feb 05 (ANI): IIT Kanpur's Aeronautics Department in collaboration with a start-up have developed an unmanned drone-helicopter. This drone-helicopter can be used for long-endurance surveillance and vaccine distribution. With the capacity to carry weight up to 5kg, it can cover distance of 50km. As the weight reduces, the distance can be increased to 100km. Drone-helicopter can fly up to 11,500 feet but the long range trails are to be held soon. Department of Aerospace Engineering’s Professor Abhishek said, "It operates on petrol and can go working for straight 3-4 hours. It can be used for vaccine distribution in far-flung areas."
