‘Haritha Booths’ in Kerala local body polls encourage environment-friendly measures

Kochi (Kerala), Dec 11 (ANI): In a bid to protect the environment and reduce waste, the Kerala government set up green booths during the second phase of the local body polls held on December 10. Under the Suchitwa Mission, 'Haritha Booths' were set up which involved using environment-friendly materials. 14 municipalities and 82 Gram Panchayats were part of this green initiative, informed Dhanya Josy, Programme Officer, Suchitwa Mission, in Kochi “We want to convey the message that we should focus on environment and reduce waste," Josy told ANI. The final phase of local body polls in Kerala will be held on December 14. Votes will be counted on December 16.
