Freight train operations begin at New Khurja-New Bhaupur section

New Khurja (Uttar Pradesh): Dedicated freight corridor’s (DFC) New Khurja-New Bhaupur section has been opened for freight trains. This 351 Kilometre long section in Uttar Pradesh has been built at a cost of Rs 5,750 crores. Now goods trains can run with average speed of 60-70 kmph from previous average speed of 25-30 kmph. The New stations in this section are New Bhaupur, New Kanchausi, New Achalda, New Ekdil, New Bhadan, New Makhanpur, New Tundla, New Hathras, New Daud khan and New Khurja. This section passes through Kanpur Dehat, Auraiya, Etawah, Firozabad, Hathras, Aligarh and Bulandshahr districts. Some of the important Industrial Areas that straddle this section are Aligarh, Khurja, Firozabad, Agra & Bhaupur. In this stretch, 68 Level Crossings have been eliminated for augmenting speed and safety. The section has 19 Major Bridges, 414 Minor Bridges and 7 Rail Flyovers.
