First-ever awareness program on human rights organised in Manipur

Imphal (Manipur), Jan 23 (ANI): An awareness program on human rights was organised in Manipur at the conference hall of the Superintendent of Police, Imphal East on January 22. The awareness program was hosted by the Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) for the first time in the state. Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson of Manipur Human Rights Commission, Khaidem Mani, stated that the police force is one of the important departments to protect human rights. Appreciating the Human Rights Commission, Jogeshchandra Haobijam, Superintendent of Police, Imphal East said “The team Manipur Human rights enlightened our police officers with certain do’s and don’ts. It was a very nice discussion.” As a part of the program, police officers including, Additional SPs, Deputy SPs, Officers-in-charges of different police stations of Imphal East district including women police interacted with human rights experts.
