Farmers get ‘Rural Hut’ to sell their products directly to customers in J&K’s Doda

Doda (Jammu and Kashmir), July 04 (ANI): The farmers of Doda district are finally provided a space to sell their products directly to shopkeepers and local customers. A Mandi named as “Rural Hut” has been constructed by department of Rural Development at Pranu of block Bhalla with a cost of Rs 19 Lakh with some other facilities including toilet and resting places. Although farmers believe that it will take longer time to become a fully functional vegetable Mandi but they are happy to find a place for selling their vegetables and fruits instead of doing this through middle men. District Development Commissioner of Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode inaugurated rural hut in presence of officers of agriculture and horticulture department.One Mandi was constructed at Paryoute area few years back but no farmer was ready to go there as its location was not favourable.
