Anantnag (J&K), Aug 28 (ANI): To promote trading of GI-tagged ‘Kashmir Saffron’, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has created an e-auction portal under the aegis of India International Kashmir Saffron Trading Centre (IIKSTC) in Pampore. The sole motive of the e-auction platform is to give buyers access to quality saffron, as the new platform directly connects the buyers with sellers, making the role of middle men redundant. The spice park laboratory at IIKSTC has facility to properly test and dry the Kashmiri saffron. The packing of Kashmiri saffron with unique codes also ensures high quality standards. The e-auction will also help the saffron growers in the valley to get fair price for their produce.
