Duping people by providing fake job letters, arrested

New Delhi, 14 Dec (ANI): With the arrest of a mastermind Rajendra Mallick, IGI Airport Unit of Delhi police has busted a racket involved in duping people by providing fake jobs at IGI airport. The accused person has cheated approx 1500 job seekers and the total cheated amount is above Rs 15 Lakh. A complaint was received on behalf of GMR in which it was alleged that some unknown miscreants had hosted/created a fraudulent website of GMR with the address of https://www.gmrairport.com/ by impersonating the original website of GMR Airports which is https://www.gmrairports.com/ . It was alleged that the fraudsters are fraudulently duping, luring and obtaining money from the job seekers on the pretext of offering a fictitious job offer by publishing fake advertisement related to various job opening and job offers in GMR group and is extracting Rs. 1000/- each as application fees through online payment mode from the applicant. During the course of investigation, it was found that accused is operating its activity from Bhubaneswar, Odisha. With the help of local police raid was conducted and accused Rajendra Mallick was arrested from his in-law’s village. Alleged person used to influence the mindset of the innocent job-seeking victims and took advantage of their job requirements during pandemic. With his associates, he has created a clone website of GMR and uploaded the same on the internet. The accused person used to take money from the job seekers via PAYTM business account. The accused person had also created many other bank accounts on the basis of fake/fabricated documents in which they used to channelize the cheated amount.
