DRDO cultivating vegetables under intense winters for Indian Army

Leh (Ladakh), Sep 22 (ANI): As the troops are set to spend harsh winters at China border, The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in Leh is working on cultivating vegetables in the tough conditions for the Indian Army with the technologies like passive green house technology, zero energy based technique storage and micro greens. Research is done by DRDO’s Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR). DIHAR has worked on Microgreen plant which will help jawans grow plants in harsh condition and can gown in 10-15 days. Product can be used as seasoning for farmers.
