Delhi Police solve armed robbery of 4 kg gold worth Rs 2 crore

New Delhi, 24 Dec (ANI): With the arrest of four accused persons, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has solved a sensational 4 kg gold robbery case in Shakarpur. A gang of four bike-borne armed assailants committed the robbery on Vikas Marg, Delhi. They robbed a jewellery maker, Champak Gayan who along with his employee Saurabh was going to Anand Vihar ISBT in an auto. When they reached Vikas Marg near Mangal Bazar Chowk Laxmi Nagar, the robbers obstructed the way of the auto and on gun-point tried to snatch the jewellery bag from Champak but he resisted and did not release the jewellery bag. When the robbers failed to snatch the jewellery bag, one of the robbers attacked him with a knife and stabbed him several times on his thigh and stole his jewellery bag. During the course of investigation, a secret information was received by the police that Golu gang was involved behind this incident and gang leaders Mukesh, Golu and Toni would come to Karol Bagh near B.L. Kapoor Hospital to meet someone. Immediately, a team was constituted and reached Karol Bagh along with the informer. After some time, two persons on a scooty came there. Both were apprehended on the instance of the informer. During interrogation, they confessed their involvement in the robbery. On their instance, one of their associates, Prashanto Santra was also arrested. They disclosed that one person Uttam Dagur who is also a jewellery maker and friend of victim and running a workshop of making jewellery in the same premises of the victim, passed this information to them. On their instance, Uttam Dagur was also apprehended. 1 Kg 900 grams gold rod melted from robbed gold jewellery was recovered from accused. One FZ motorcycle used in the crime was also recovered.
