‘Delhi Chalo’ protest enters day 16

Delhi-Haryana Border, Dec 11 (ANI): Agitating farmers continued to camp on the outskirts of national capital as their ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest against three new agricultural laws entered day 16 on December 11. Farmers stayed put at multiple border areas including Tikri border (Delhi-Haryana), Singhu border (Delhi-Haryana) and Ghazipur border (Delhi-UP). Security personnel are also surveilling the protest sites to ensure law and order situation remain peaceful. Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on December 10 again urged the farmer leaders to resolve the issue through dialogues, even as the protesting farmers threatened to take their protest nationwide if the “black laws” are not repealed. Farmer leaders on December 09 had rejected government’s proposal which included written assurance of MSP (minimum support price) to them.
