COVID-19: Highest 24,879 cases reported in 24 hours, tally reaches 7.67 lakh

New Delhi, Jul 09 (ANI): India on July 09 reported steepest spike of 24,879 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 7,67,296. Country also saw 487 deaths in the same period, and the death toll has now reached 21,129. The active cases stand at 2,69,789, while 4,76,378 people have so far beaten the virus, taking the recovery rate to over 61 percent. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 2.67 lakh samples were tested for coronavirus in the country on July 08. The number of total samples tested are now 1.07 crore.
