Comic Munawar Faruqui released from Indore Jail

Indore (MP), Feb 07 (ANI): Stand up comedian Munawar Faruqui was released in the early hours of Feb 07 from Indore Central Jail where he was held for over a month, after his arrest in a case related to allegedly hurting religious sentiments. Faruqui was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court on Friday. Faruqui was arrested after a complaint by BJP MLA’s son that objectionable remarks about Hindu deities as well as Union Home Minister Amit Shah were passed during a comedy show at a cafe in Indore on New Year's Day.
