CM Gehlot directs police officials to take action with sensitivity in cases of crime against women

Jaipur (Rajasthan) October 9 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot directed the police department to take prompt action in crimes against women and weaker sections of the society. CM Gehlot was reviewing various issues related to law and order in the state.During the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the State Government has implemented the policy of compulsorily hearing and registering of FIRs. It is being continuously monitored from a high level. He also underlined that it is because of the effect of the Special Investigation Unit for Crime against Women set up in all 41 police districts of the state, there has been a significant reduction in investigation time taken in crime against women and POCSO cases. CM Gehlot directed that a letter should be written to the Union Home Ministry to make similar arrangements in all the states in the manner in which Rajasthan government has made it mandatory to register FIRs in police stations.
