Chamoli tragedy: ITBP provides support to villages cut off due to flash floods

Chamoli (Uttarakhand)/ Onboard, Feb 08 (ANI): The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel provided support to the villages that have been cut off due to the flash floods in Chamoli. Around five sorties carrying relief materials have been sent from Lata Helipad. Choppers are used to bring relief materials in the affected areas. The aerial operation of the devastation site was also conducted from the helicopter deployed for distribution of relief material. A team of ITBP was unable to enter inside the tunnel due to slush. Machines are clearing heavy slush in the affected area. A flash flood triggered due to glacier burst on February 07 in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district where around 170 people are still missing in the tragedy.
