BSF honours 1971 war heroes in Rajasthan

Anupgarh/ Bikaner (Rajasthan), Dec 15 (ANI): Border Security Force (BSF) Rajasthan Frontier celebrated the valour of the 1971 war heroes. Veterans of the 1971 Indo-Pak war were felicitated by Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhwat, in Anupgarh at a special program. Shekhawat also met war veteran Bhairon Singh whose character was performed by actor Sunil Shetty in film ‘Border’. Meanwhile, BSF personnel ran a 180-kilometre relay race which started at midnight of 13 December at the international border, to honour the 1971 war veterans. The race was started in Bikaner and culminated at Anupgarh, in less than 11 hours.
