‘Bansh Gram’- once a militant's den, now a tourist heaven in Tripura

Katlamara (Tripura) Feb 15 (ANI): Located around 35 km from Agartala under bordering Katmara village, Bansh Gram is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Tripura. Less than a decade ago, the area was known for its militant activities. A large number of people had fled the area especially after the Panchabati massacre when 18 persons were killed in indiscriminate firing by the banned militant outfit All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) in 1999. Manna Ray, the founder of Bansh Gram said that he created this beautiful bamboo resort to promote eco-tourism destination utilizing the local resources. From bamboo huts to chairs, tables, bridge, watchtower everything here is made of bamboo.
